Alan Thornton gave a very informative talk on the ‘Cadbury Story’ at the April meeting.
It told how George Cadbury’s philanthropic approach to business ensured his workers had a pleasant environment in which to live and work, with many amenities provided for their leisure time as well.
Some of the future events members are looking forward to are the Art Day on May 25, the Forest Group Meeting and the regular monthly lunch club.
The craft session of quilling – an art form that uses strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs – was a great success. Under the expert guidance of Suzanne Moule, some lovely Easter cards were made.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 1 when, following the Annual Meeting and the presentation of this year’s Resolution, there will be a demonstration on making petits fours by Suzanne Moule.
