BELL End near Belbroughton beat Brown Willy and Boggy Bottom to the top spot in a newly-released list of Britain's funniest place names - as voted for by the public.

More than 36 per cent of voters thought the north Worcestershire village was the funniest of the lot, placing it above Fanny Hands Lane in Lincolnshire and Sandy Balls in Hampshire.

Insurance provider Swiftcover polled 2,000 Brits before comprising its top 30 list of rude and ludicrous place names.

The list of laughable locations features four 'Bottoms', two of which are in Dorset, which boasts the most spots in the final list.

Other entries include Fanny Barks in Durham, Oxford's Crotch Crescent and Titty Hill in Sussex.

Worcester's Minge Lane made eighth place with 23 per cent of the vote.
