BELBROUGHTON beauty and reigning Miss Worcestershire Laura Beth Morgan was awarded another prestigious title at the finals of Miss England.

The television and film production assistant was among the 49 national finalists at the glitzy Miss England finals held at Southport Theatre and Convention Centre Floral Hall between July 19 and 21.

She represented the county after winning the Miss Worcestershire title back in January, when she impressed judges with her confidence and determination to chance the views of beauty pageants, including promoting body confidence in young people.

The Miss England competition is keen to move away from its historical 'bathing beauty' image, so instead contestants took part in a series of tough qualifying rounds.

These included sports and fitness, fundraising, talent and an eco-fashion show.

To prepare for the fundraising category the 24-year-old and other finalists were asked to raise money for the Miss World charity, Beauty with a Purpose, as well as for other charities close to their own hearts.

Miss Morgan managed to raise a staggering £9,479, beating the fundraising efforts of her competitors, and gaining her the title of Miss Charity 2016 which she was crowded at the Southport ceremony.

Although she missed out on the top title, which went to new Miss England Elizabeth Grant, Miss Morgan has been invited back by judges to compete again at the Miss England Semi-Final 2017 as a reward for her amazing work during the competition.

Writing on Facebook, Miss Morgan said: "I had the most the most incredible three days at the finals.

"I am so honoured to now hold the title of Miss Charity 2016.

"Not only did I win this award but I gained a place in the top 20 out of 22,000 ladies from across the UK."
