HUNDREDS of people joined sporting hero Sir Ian Botham for a trek around Clent to support his crusade against cancer.
The cricket legend made his way through the beauty spot on Tuesday April 17 for the sixth stage of the ten-day Beefy’s Great British Walk to help beat childhood leukaemia.
He was joined at the event by former footballers Geoff Thomas and Gordon Cowans to raise cash and awareness for the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Sir Ian, who is president of the charity, said: “I need people to sign up and join me to help ensure that every child diagnosed with blood cancers including leukaemia and lymphoma survives. I won’t stop until we beat childhood blood cancer.”
