FIREFIGHTERS across Wyre Forest were called to a number of incidents yesterday afternoon.

At 12.14pm Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bewdley and Kidderminster attended a company on Load Street, Bewdley, due to smoke coming from an electrical cabinet.

The service confirmed the unit had overheated after crews monitored the area with thermal image cameras. The incident was then handed over to Western Power Distribution.

At 3.05pm yesterday, Stourport and Bewdley crews were alerted to 260 hay bales which were well alight in a field in Lincomb, Stourport.

The crews managed to extinguish the flames, after scaling the incident down using hose reel jets.

At 5.21pm an unattended bonfire in Bishops Wood Lane, Crossway Green, was put out by a crew from Bewdley station by using one hose reel jet.
