NEW heights have been reached by Bewdley Museum this year as the centre is celebrating more people visiting than ever before.

The number of people venturing through its doors so far in 2014 has already surpassed last year’s record of 145,000 with nearly 150,000 visitors already this year.

Set in the heart of Bewdley Town Centre, the museum hosts several events throughout the year and is home to a number of resident craftspeople who specialise in a wide variety of skills.

Wyre Forest District Councillor Anne Hingley, cabinet member for health, wellbeing and housing said: “We are delighted to see that the museum continues to draw tourists to the area.

“With so many activities on offer, the museum is able to attract a high volume of tourism which helps boost the local economy.”

Together with its success is the recent launch of the museum’s website which features information about upcoming events, vocational visits for schools, the cafe, and the resident craftspeople.
