The branch celebrated the past year with a buffet at the Bewdley Hotel. During the past year, members attended several events including the Holocaust Service in Kidderminster, the Royal Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, the Birmingham Tattoo, and visited the Poppy Factory in Richmond upon Thames.
On August 4, members, some elderly stood to attention for one hour in front of the town centre war memorial in silent tribute to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War. A candle was lit by Ted Harrison and extinguished one hour later by Alan Winspur. During the launch of the Poppy Appeal member Mike Winspur adorned his mini car with stick-on poppies, these will remain on the car during 2015 to promote the branch and the aims of the RBL. Chairman Paul Gittins thanked everyone for their efforts during the year and announced that already the branch had collected over £10,000 towards the Poppy Appeal.
