Last month’s talk was a very interesting account if how The River Severn Trust is working with landowners and farmers to improve the quality of the water, enabling many species to thrive again.
Simple measures such as fencing preventing cows breaking down banks and ploughing parallel with the river rather than vertically to reduce fertilizer contamination produce results in only a few years.
The next lecture is by Vic Aspland, always a good speaker, who will talk about a brighter side of winter. As this is the last meeting before Christmas there will be mulled wine and mince pies available.
November 16, 7.30pm at the Riverside Church. Non members welcome.
