Bewdley man has skull fractured in nightclub attack

A BEWDLEY man was left fighting for his life when his skull was fractured in a nightclub assault.

The 25-year-old victim was attacked at about 2.45am on Saturday, May 12 at the O Bar in Broad Street Birmingham. He was attending a private function on the club’s ground floor.

He is currently in intensive care in hospital where his condition remains as critical but stable.

Two men aged 20 and 22, both from Birmingham appeared at the town’s magistrates court this morning charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. They were arrested outside the club soon after the trouble flared.

A 19-year-old girl was also assaulted during the same incident but her injuries are not serious.

Detectives continue to review CCTV coverage inside the club, plus the surrounding area, and are urging anyone who was at the O Bar to contact police.
