QUIZ evenings, coffee mornings and a fashion show have helped a golf club to raise nearly £5,000 for good causes.
The club captain, lady captain and lady president of the Churchill and Blakedown Golf Club have organised the events while in office over the last year.
Club captain Mike Preston has been raising money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund while lady captain Tracie Evans donated her share to the Macular Degeneration and Kidney Association.
Gill Haycox, lady president, chose Action Heart, a cardiac rehabilitation service at Russells Hall hospital in Dudley, as her charity.
About 400 members have helped to raise a total of £4,865 with donations also being made to Children in Need and the Poppy Appeal as well as a small contribution to the Blakedown Parish Council’s Jubilee fund.
During Mr Preston’s two-year captaincy he has helped to raise a total of £10,000 for charity.
