BURGLARS who broke into a Blakedown nursery have stolen a cash box containing £100.
The incident happened at Blue Hoots Pre-School, in Birmingham Road, between 6pm on Friday and 7.20am on Monday.
It is believed offenders got into an office through a window.
They made an untidy search before stealing the red petty cash box.
PC Kate Medlam said: "This burglary has caused a great deal of distress among the nursery staff.
"Blakedown has a close-knit community so we are hoping someone will come forward with information.
"The nursery backs onto a graveyard which is used as a cut through by locals, especially dog walkers and we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious. We would also like to hear from anyone who finds the cash tin."
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Medlam on 101, quoting incident 47-s-01 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
