The AGM will be held on Wednesday, March 20 at 7pm at Chaddesley Village Hall.

It will be followed by a talk at 7.30pm by Anna Kingsley-Curry on the Woodcote Jubilee Project.

Although Woodcote is an old settlement mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086, it has no centre like Chaddesley and therefore lacked a sense of community.

To remedy this and to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Jubilee Project was conceived. As a result, with the co-operation of local residents, a map of all the houses was produced and to accompany it a 50-page booklet – Woodcote in Worcestershire – with chapters on the history of the area, the woods, people and houses was compiled.

Anna will explain about researching the past and present, starting with evidence from the retreat of the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago and finishing with a triumphant, but soggy, Jubilee party.

Everyone is welcome.
