The club had two evening outings in June instead of a meeting as is usual.

The first being to Meadow Farm Garden & Nursery. This was a great success, the weather was good and we had a good turn out of members. The nursery gardens were full of luscious plants which could be purchased, and members wandered round at will enjoying the evening which ended with refreshments.

The second was to Preen Manor Gardens at Much Wenlock. The weather on that Friday was wet most of the day but as the evening approached the sun came out enabling us to enjoy the Gardens. There was also a beautiful church in the Gardens built in the 11th century which was worth the visit alone. These gardens were well tended and also ended with coffee/tea and cakes being served, a good evening.

On July 6 the club members are going to Ledbury and Hampton Court Gardens in Herefordshire, fingers crossed for good weather.

The next meeting of our club will be held on July 28 at Clent Parish Hall, the talk given by Dr John Page entitled ‘The Joys of English Gardens’.

All are welcome to our meetings, anyone interested in either joining or just visiting the Club can get further details by visiting our website on clentgardeningclub.wordpress.com/ or by contacting our Chairman Pat Orme on 01384 394451.

Please all interested parties note that on September 7 we are having our annual Flower Show in Clent Parish Hall.

This will be the 67th show by Clent and we hope it will be the usual success. We hope to see all members, friends of members or any interested parties on this day as there will be lots to see and do. We have locally grown produce which is judged by WI Judges, home made cakes for sale, a raffle, and a chance to enter your home grown produce either grown in your gardens or jams etc. made in your kitchens, please come and help us to make it a good day. There is a section for children to enter including a Pizzetta, a natural collage, an invitation card to a party or a holiday photograph.

Entries must be at Clent Parish Hall by 11am on September 7.
