Margart Taylor won the prize for the Best Exhibit at the club’s Spring Show.

With some good exhibit entries from members, it was the best show for a few years. The hard winter gave a good display of daffodils.

Marion Wilson took first place in the show, with Judith Lawson second and Dorothy Twyman third.

The club would like to express many thanks to Cyril Norman for judging the show.

The speaker for the evening was Ray Sturdy with a talk entitled ‘Worcester Remembered’.

Slides showed life around Worcester and surrounding villages in the early 1900s.

Jill Whitehead will give a talk on ‘Hidden Gardens of Herefordshire’ at the meeting next Wednesday, April 27 The club has arranged a plant sale, coffee morning and bring and buy on Saturday May 21. The events start at 10.30am at Clows Top Victory Hall.

Other fortchoming events include a a talk on ‘Day Lilies’ by Mark Zenick on Wednesday, May 25 and Philip Handley will give a talk on ‘Organic Technique Advantages’ on Wednesday June 22.

Speaker Roger Umpelby, will give a talk on ‘Friends and Foes in the Garden’ on Wednesday, July 25.

The club meets on the fourth Wednesday in the calendar month at Clows Top Victory Hall.

Doors open 7.45pm, for the speaker at 8pm and there are refreshments, raffle and a plant stall. Non-members are very welcome to meetings but membership is only £5 pa.
