The club’s fundraising efforts meant they were able to present Maurice Evans with a cheque for £200 on behalf of the Air Ambulance at their latest meeting.
Speaker Fiona Hope gave a talk on ‘Gardening with the Moon’. She explained the rhythm of the moon and when the best time to do certain jobs in the garden depending on whether the moon is waxing or waning.
It was also the club’s Autumn Show.
The show winners were: 1 Marion Wilson, 2 Margaret Dredge, 3 Val Greenhill. Best Exhibit: Dot Cowdell.

The next event will be on Wednesday, October 26 when speaker Wade Muggleton, will give a talk entitled ‘Vegetables In Containers, Pots & Tiny Plots’.
Diary Dates: Wednesday, November 23: AGM and ‘An Evening with Julian Newbold, Professional Gardener’.
No meeting in December.
Wednesday, January, 25, 2012: Speaker Brian Draper will give a talk entitled ‘Elgar’s Countryside’.
The club meets the fourth Wednesday in the calendar month at Clows Top Victory Hall. Doors open 7.45pm, for the speaker at 8pm.
Non-members are very welcome to the meetings. However, membership is only £5 pa.
