ADELE and Michael Buble tribute acts will be performing at a free Party in the Park event in Cookley.

Upfront Entertainments Agency have arranged for a host of covers bands and tribute acts to perform at Cookley Sports Club on Sunday, September 8.

One of the directors at Upfront Daryl Preece said: “I was born and bred in the village and, like a lot of people, I’ve thought it would make the most glorious backdrop. It’ll be an absolutely wonderful place for something like this.

“We do a lot of showcase events for new artists and I got chatting with people at Cookley Sports Club and we thought we could put something on for the community. We hope it might turn into an annual event.

“People can come along and bring their own picnics and get back to the good old days when people did something for the good of the village. The more the merrier.”

Indie covers band The Anthemics will be headlining the show at the Cookley Village Playing Fields.

Other acts include Take That tribute band Could It Be Magic, Roxy Whilde performing soft rock hits, Movie Magic, Jersey Boys tribute Jersey Four, Natalie Anne as ‘Adele’ and Kidderminster’s Tom Joseph as ‘Michael Buble.’ Britain’s Got Talent star Laura Broad, of Kidderminster, and Becky Neale will be performing as Il Divina, with songs from musicals, operas and classical hits.

There will be refreshments available as well as a bucking bronco, bouncy castle and raffle.

The event officially kicks off at 6pm until 11pm but entertainment will be available from about 4pm.
