VISITORS to Webbs Garden Centre at West Hagley are invited to help find the ‘pawfect’ name for a new Guide Dog.
Generous customers at the garden centre chain have raised more than £5,000 for the charity Guide Dogs and in return are being offered chance to name a puppy and sponsor it for the first year of its life.
The Webbs puppy has not been born yet, so puppy walker Alison Nuttall took along her Guide Dog puppy Abbey to inspire names for the competition which runs until April 14.
Webbs Chairman Ed Webb said: “Customers will be able to meet him or her at Webbs and we will follow its progress with regular ‘pupdates’.
The competition winner and their family will scoop £50 worth of Webbs vouchers and a free guided tour of the Guide Dog facilities in Leamington.
The guide dog service transforms the lives of around 4,600 blind and partially-sighted people every year but it costs £5,000 to breed and puppy walk each guide dog and the lifetime cost of a guide dog is nearly £50,000.
Entry forms can be collected instore or downloaded from website www.webbsdirect.co.uk and returned to the store.
