YOUNGSTERS at Hagley Primary School dressed up as their favourite fictional characters to celebrate World Book Day.
Children at the school in Park Road turned up on Friday (March 7) as all manner of characters from Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf to Mr Twit from Roald Dahl's The Twits and Princess Jasmine from Aladdin.
Teacher & literacy co-ordinator Hayley Rutter said: "Children have taken part in a variety of fun activities throughout the week."
She said pupils took part in book clubs, writing competitions and sponsored reads. They also developed reading corners in classrooms and staged various activities based around their favourite books and authors.
The school will also be hosting a book fair on April 3.
