Spring cleaning in the basement of the Guildhall lead to a voyage of discovery. David Clark, former Mayor of Worcester, supervised the spring cleaning and found prison cells which had once been occupied by women who had been sentence to transportation to Australia.

Anxious to know more he researched the lives of seven women, one of whom did return to Worcester. Unusual for those days. A very interesting period in our legal history. Mr Clark was thanked by Pat Jewkes.
