HAGLEY Primary School's popular Kindergarten has celebrated its 25th birthday.

A tea party was held to mark the occasion which saw former members of staff and some of the original children who are now in their 20s return to reminisce.

Kindergarten manager Gail Hall said: "It was the former head of the then Hagley First School, Patricia Wollacott, who came up with the idea of having a nursery on the premises.

"She approached the PTA who then set it up. They thought they were busy with 10 children.

"Since then, the kindergarten has gone from strength to strength.

"We're now full to bursting and we have a waiting list.

"We get inquiries from as far afield as Halesowen, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster but we always try and accommodate children from Hagley whenever possible."
