PHOTOGRAPHERS are invited to get snapping and enter the annual Webbs' calendar competition.

Webbs Garden Centres at West Hagley and Wychbold, near Droitwich, are holding the photo competition for the 12th year running as it has proved a continuing hit with customers.

The judges will again be looking for eye-catching images of flowers, gardens, flora and fauna – and for the first time the public will have chance to vote for a number of entries via social media.

There will also be a young photographer category for keen snappers aged under 18.

Judging will take place in the middle of June and 12 winning entries will be selected to feature in the calendar, with each winning photographer credited.

Ed Webb, chairman of Webbs, said: “We are surrounded by such beautiful countryside and gardens in Worcestershire that we don’t need to go far to capture some fantastic images.

“We always have a great response to the competition and are looking forward to seeing this year’s entries.”

The garden centre will host an exhibition of the winning entries in September and the 2017 calendar will go on sale in the autumn.

Fifty pence from every calendar sold will be donated to Greenfingers, the gardening industry charity which helps create gardens in children’s hospices.

The 2016 calendar raised more than £1,700 for the charity and it is hoped the latest calendar will raise even more.

Amateur photographers or enthusiasts of any age are invited to enter the competition.

The 12 winning entrants will each receive Webbs Gift Vouchers worth £30 and copies of the calendar to give to friends and family.

Entry forms available from Webbs at West Hagley or Wychbold or can be downloaded online from http://www.webbs.co.uk/
