A NEW TV initiative has been launched by Hagley residents with the aim of building a “stronger community”.

Hagley Community TV (H:TV) wants to provide a wide range of content appealing to both the young and old in the village, as well as using it as a platform to promote its residents, local businesses, groups and social activities.

Since its launch last month, the online station has already worked alongside the Hagley Bellringer’s St George’s Day concert and the Hagley Theatre Group’s production of ‘When the Curtain Falls’.

Pablo Colella, a member of the H:TV team, said: “We feel there is huge potential for increased exposure for both community groups, but also local business’ looking to reach an extremely targeted audience within the Hagley area.

“Through our regular video news features that cover local events, community groups, parish council issues and interviews with notable Hagley residents, we can now provide a variety of opportunities to build the Hagley community.

“Response to the project has been overwhelming, with praise and support coming from the community and with over 1,000 people watching our coverage of the theatre group’s youth production.”

H:TV, which is on the hunt for people who would like to feature on the network, especially residents who have memories of the village in years gone by, is also hoping to expand into live broadcasting.
