MORE than 100 pieces of work are set to be displayed by Hagley artists as they host their latest exhibition of original paintings.

Work by the 75 members of Hagley Art Club will go on show at the village community centre in Worcester Road over the weekend of November 25 to 27.

The club's 27th annual exhibition will be opened at 7pm on Friday (November 25) by Rev Richard Newton, vicar of St Saviour's Church.

Visitors will get the chance to view the exhibits after the official opening on Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Member Jacqueline Bradley said: “There will be pieces of all sorts of subjects and styles, including some of the older mediums such as water colours and oils, while one of our members even uses pen and ink to create some wonderful artwork.

“It’s a very good exhibition – we have some very accomplished artists in our club and it’s lovely to see so many varied pieces of work.”

Most of the paintings displayed are for sale, while visitors will be able to enjoy various refreshments as well as vote for their favourite artist.

Mrs Bradley added: “In the last few years a trophy has been awarded to the visitors’ favourite artist which is always good fun.

“When they arrive, visitors are given a catalogue of all the work and can choose who their favourite artist is and the winner will be given the trophy at our AGM.”

The club meets between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on the second Friday of the month at St Saviour's Church Hall, Hagley.
