A VINTAGE fashion designer is holding a sale of her retro garments and remakes at a fundraising tea party in Hagley.
Hannah Picken, from Stourbridge, will stage her Christmas tea party in the Wychbury Room of Old Halesonians Rugby Club, on Sunday, December 11, where she will be raising money for The Alzheimer’s Society.
The 24-year-old, who left university to realise her dreams as a fashion designer by setting up her own clothing business, chose the charity because her late grandmother suffered from the disease for ten years.
Hannah said: “It was so sad seeing my Nan suffer through all those years, so I thought that the fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society was one of the most appropriate things I could do.
“I did fashion and design at school and went off to do it at university, but uni just wasn’t for me, so I decided to leave and set up my own little business instead.
“I’ll be selling a number of pieces of vintage clothing, which are pure originals, one-off garments or remakes that I have created.
“We’ll also have tea, coffee and cakes all for free, as well as a raffle with lots of great prizes, including an afternoon tea at a vineyard and Starbucks and Costa Coffee hampers.”
The Christmas tea party will take place between 2pm and 4pm at the Wassell Grove Lane venue.
