A few years ago the Rotary Clubs in Worcestershire raised around £50,000 for a large, mobile life education centre (caravan) for use in primary schools throughout the county.
The purpose of the caravan is to make children aware of the serious effects of alcohol, drugs and tobacco on the body and to try and dissuade them from starting on these bad habits.
Inside are impressive, hi-tech visual presentations, with models of the human torso which open up and reveal normal organs, together with explanations of the damage which is caused to these organs by drug taking, smoking and alcohol abuse.
Hagley Rotary Club contributed £950 for the caravan to be parked for two days at Hagley Primary School.
More than 200 pupils visited the exhibits and learned from Sue and Nicky, the full-time instructors, about the serious risks.
