CHOIRS from across Wyre Forest are invited to take part in a vocal event at Webbs Garden Centre to raise money for the county’s hospices.

The choir-a-thon, to be held at the Wychbold garden centre on Thursday, December 4, from 3pm until 8pm, will see choirs being asked to perform for 30 minutes each in the centre restaurant during the Webb’s Festive Food Fayre.

In exchange for the choirs performing for customers, Webbs has pledged £1,000 to be split between Kemp Hospice, St Richard’s Hospice, Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove, Acorns Hospice and Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge.

It is hoped customers will make further donations to boost the fundraising efforts.

Webbs chairman, Ed Webb, praised local choirs ahead of the event which several school and community groups have already signed up to take part in.

He said: “We have many outstanding choirs locally across the whole age range.

“We would really love them to step up and share their wonderful voices with our customers to bring an extra festive feel to our fayre.

“We support our chosen hospice charities throughout the year but look forward to giving them this extra donation at Christmas when they work so hard to make it a special time for patients and families.”
