A NEW manager appointed in Bromsgrove to promote the town centre will also be working with businesses and villagers in Hagley.
Cheryl Welsh has been brought in by Bromsgrove District Council as a centres manager to work with local businesses to launch a number of specific initiatives to promote activity in Bromsgrove town and surrounding village centres including Hagley.
She will be working on developing the town centre, marketing the area, supporting retailers, promoting regeneration and investment, creating sustainable strategies for all of the centres, and co-ordinating a calendar of events and promotions for the town and village centres to increase footfall.
She said: “I have been in post for three weeks so far and have been very impressed with the levels of enthusiasm and energy from local businesses and colleagues alike.
“There are already lots of positive things happening in the area and it’s great to see businesses very proactive with lots of ideas and projects to enhance their centre, including local community volunteer support. I have a passion for working with businesses in particular the independents who bring a unique offer to centres and a real entrepreneurial spirit.”
Dean Piper, head of north Worcestershire economic development and regeneration, added: “We are very pleased to secure an experienced and highly skilled town centres manager. We wish her all the best in this exciting new role.”
