A description of the busy night life in Leeds added a little extra to the report on the NFWI annual meeting which took place on June 7.
The resolution, which was passed unanimously, concerned organ donation. This resolution is a plea for everyone to discuss, with their families, whether they are willing to donate their organs to be used, after death, for the benefit of someone in need. Plans for the 100th anniversary of the formation of the WI are going ahead.
The annual general meeting next year is to be available for all members to see.
The whole day will be piped out from the Albert Hall to theatres and homes. There are also to be programmes on television next year about the history of the WI.
The evening was completed with drinks and nibbles and a display of the Craft Loan collection containing crafts of excellent quality made by members over many years.
The meeting on July 9 at 7.30 in the Parish Hall will be Paint a pot with Jenny Bird. Come and try your hand at making your own work of art.
