AN eight-year-old from Kidderminster had the opportunity to present a posy to The Princess Royal as part of St John Ambulance’s regional cadet of the year competition.

Jennifer Bull presented the posy to Princess Anne who is the Commandant-in-Chief for Youth for St John Ambulance.

She attended the first aid charity’s regional cadet of the year and youth award ceremony in Birmingham.

Princess Anne met district cadets of the year and their deputies and watched cadets perform a first aid demonstration.

She was also introduced to some of the young people who have been acknowledged for their achievements in St John Ambulance including Jennifer who joined the charity as a badger, for children aged between five and 10.

Phil Kinghorn, regional youth manager for St John Ambulance, said: ‘‘First aid is an important skill for people of all ages to learn.

“Our Cadets have shown again today what an outstanding credit they are to the organisation, their families and the local community.”
