CHILDREN in three Kidderminster neighbourhoods will have free access to a party bus that will be running next Wednesday.

The service, provided by the Big Local DY10 project, has a soft play area, ball pit and activity area suitable for children aged between three and eight.

It will be located in Cherry Orchard, Greenhill between 9.30am and 11.30am, in Broad Street, Horsefair from noon to 2pm and in Upton Road, Broadwaters between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

Rev Rose Lawley, independent chairman of Big Local DY10, said: “This is the first of a series on interactive and fun community events that the Big Local DY10 project will be organising over the next six months.

“We know that it can be difficult to find affordable activities during half term so this is why we are starting with the Children’s Party Bus. It has been organised by local people for local people so please support us.”

Big Local DY10 is a resident-led project that will oversee a £1 million investment in the area over the next 10 years. It is part of a national scheme that uses funding provided by the Big Lottery, the largest National Lottery good cause distributor.

It aims to make Horsefair, Broadwaters and Greenhill better places to live in by identifying local needs and taking action in response, with volunteer researchers operating alongside the bus, asking residents how they think the £1 million investment could be spent most effectively.
