MEMBERS of the new Junior Choir at St Barnabas Church in Franche have passed their starter level singing qualifications.
In the past few months choristers have been working towards the Royal School of Church Music, Voice for Life, White Level qualification, which they completed earlier this month. (July 6) In gaining the qualification, they have been learning about music theory, how to sing correctly and how to become part of a choir, as well as developing their singing repertoire.
It involved working through a series of tasks, including reading and understanding a piece of music, following a conductor, learning about the different voice parts in the choir and understanding what vocal ranges sing which parts.
Observing and working with the adult choir at the church was also part of the qualification.
Members who completed the White Level qualification included Ellie Walters, Tom Hignall, Kelsee Lewis and Alice Hignall.
