A CHARITY concert is being held in memory of a popular Kidderminster man who died of Burkitt Lymphoma cancer in 2011.

The Big Mac 2 – Mods vs Rude Boys, which features music from two local bands Perfect Strangers and Skakuza, will remember the life of Paul McTear while raising money and awareness of the disease which took his life.

Taking place at the King and Castle Pub and Severn Valley Platform on Saturday, October 11, the event is being organised by the Nowhere To Run To Scooter Club, which Paul was a member of.

Lee Ganley, one of the event organisers, said: “This is the second fundraising event we have held for Paul, not just to remember him – as he will never be forgotten – but also to raise awareness of Lymphoma.”

“He was a very well liked guy, a popular gentleman, but more importantly a big family man.

“He was also a keen scooterist and would be out often on his Vespa meeting up with other like-minded people following the scooter scene and enjoying the music that tags itself to it.

“Lee Roberts - his best friend - plays in Perfect Strangers and along with other members of the club have all helped in organising this event.”

Tickets to the event, where doors open at 6.30pm, cost £10 in advance or £15 on the night and can be bought from the Big Mac 2 facebook group.
