CIVIC dignitaries will be proceeding through the streets of Kidderminster this weekend as part of the annual Mayor’s Sunday Parade.
The historic event, which dates back centuries, will see the current Kidderminster Mayor, Councillor Michael Price, as well as charter trustees and the civic party, travel to St Mary and All Saints Church for a 10.30am service.
Residents are being reminded that various streets along the route of the procession will be closed between 10am and 1pm on Sunday, October 12.
These include New Road – from the car park, Bridge Street, Oxford Street, Vicar Street, Bull Ring, Lower Mill Street – up to St Mary’s Ringway and St Mary’s Ringway – from Lower Mill Street to the church.
After the service, the parade will return from the church to the Town Hall where the Mayor will take the salute.
Civic dignitaries from around the region, including the Mayors of Stourport, Bewdley, Worcester and Droitwich will be attending.
