KINVER based Katie Collins Irish Dance team confirmed their status as one of the top Irish Dance schools in the country after clinching a string of awards at the British Open Championships held in Oldbury.

The Kinver club claimed three British titles in total with the under-17 and under-12 ceili sides both coming out on top along with the figure choreography team, who earlier this year finished third in the world championships.

They also had three solo dancers competing in Oldbury where Hollie-Mae Titley came ninth in the under-10's, Ezme Hollick came tenth in the under-14's while Molly Higgins was fourth in the under-16's.

The club meets four times a week in Kinver with classes at Foley Infant School and St Peter's Church.

Such is the demand, Katie cannot take anymore new members at the moment and she said: "The classes are already overflowing. I take all the classes myself and can't cope with anymore at the moment.

"I'd like to open a proper dance studio because I rent at the moment.

"I've been teaching Irish dance since I was 17 and it has become my whole life."
