WYRE Forest leisure centres are making a splash with new technology to help swimmers achieve more in the pool.

Stourport Sports Centre and Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre have invested in Swimtag wristbands which log how far was swam, gives tips to improve stroke technique and monitors how many calories have been burnt.

The wristbands are available to be picked up on arrival at the centres, worn in the pool and once returned back to the docking station on reception, the swimmers results are uploaded to their online account.

Swimmers can also compete in fun challenges including long distance swims such as around the Scilly Isles or English Chanel – all from the safety of a local pool.

Melissa Bettis, partnership marketing and events manager, said: β€œThe Swimtag technology is a fantastic way to help you be more active and gives you lots of information to help keep you motivated and enjoying your swims.”

The equipment has been installed at both centres, and is free for swim members and full members.
