Did you work in the carpet industry? The Museum of Carpet wants to celebrate the industry that has helped to form the town. There will be two reunions for carpet workers to come along and share their memories of the trade. For anyone employed at Tomkinson’s there is a reunion on April 17 and then on Friday 1 May, we’re staging a get together for ex-employees of Woodward Grosvenor.

Both reunions take place at the Museum of Carpet and are between 11-1pm.

The reunions are an opportunity to catch up with people that you may not have seen for a long time and all exemployees are welcome. The event is free and for a small donation, we’ll be providing a cup of tea.

Former employees are invited to come along, meet old colleagues and have a natter over a cup of coffee. The Museum will be showing a selection of archive films recorded during the industry’s heyday and there will be lots of memorabilia such as company newsletters, brochures and photographs on show on the day.

There is no need to book in advance and anyone who wants to attend is encouraged to just turn up on the day.
