On October 28, Dr Richard Churchley will talk to the society on ‘Worcestershire Carriers before the Railway Age’.
Dr Churchley will discuss the land carriers with horse, cart or waggon from Tudor times to the 1850s. He will reveal the crimes, accidents, financial problems and stories found in the newspapers concerning carriers in the county and the routes they plied.
