DRAMATIC scenes occurred in Kinver last night as gale force winds caused a tree to topple onto a nearby building.

The village suffered from the impact of Storm Barney, with the tree falling in the park area on the junction of High Street and Legion Drive.

Kinver resident Martyn Smith captured the fallen tree as he was out in the village at about 8.30am this morning.

Martyn said: “I was out this morning and saw the tree had been ripped out of the ground and was leaning on the side of the building.

“I couldn’t see whether it had caused any major damage to the building, but considering the strength of the wind last night it would seem the village got off quite lightly.”
