THE sun shone and the crowds turned out in force for the rescheduled Kinver Country Fayre which finally went ahead on Sunday (September 4).

After flash flooding forced organisers to pull on the plug on the previously planned event, due to be held in June, they kept their fingers crossed for a dry day this time round and the weather didn’t disappoint.

Headline act The White Helmets - the motorcycle display team of the Royal Signals - wowed visitors with two all-action shows packed with daredevil stunts which included jumping through a blazing hoop.

Other attractions at the traditional village fun day included heavy horses, vintage vehicles, a fun dog show, dance performances, a host of stalls, live music and a real ale tent.

Andy Calloway, one of the organisers, said: "Changing the date to September was an unknown - but it turned out to be a brilliant day. There was a really good feel to the whole fayre and it made the hard work of organising two events in one summer all worthwhile.”
