A LEADING Black Country sight loss charity will soon be running an outreach service at Kinver Community Library.

The Beacon Centre will host its advice and support service at the Vicarage Drive venue from 10am until noon, on the first Thursday of each month, beginning on February 2.

Specialist support will be on offer during the sessions, including vision assessment, low vision strategies, how to gain employment with vision impairment, how to gain independence despite vision impairment, use of technology and sight awareness training.

Beacon Centre's information officer Pete Moodie said: “We are delighted to be offering this new service with Kinver Community Library.

“If you or someone you know is living with sight loss and starting to find everyday tasks more difficult, come along to find out how Beacon can help.”

The service is free, but an appointment must booked either at the library counter, by phoning the library on 01384 872348, or calling the Beacon Centre on 01902 880111.
