AN historical talk by the director general of the National Trust is set to help raise funds to improve the pathways and access on Kinver Edge.

Dame Helen Ghosh’s ‘The origins of the National Trust’ talk is will take place at 7.45pm on Thursday (February 2) at Kinver High School and is expected to attract several hundred people.

The talk will be an informative discussion about the background of the conservation and heritage charity, while Dame Helen will also host a question and answer session about the trust.

Hosted by the Kinver Historical Society, tickets to the talk – which features a licensed bar offering refreshments – cost £5 and can be bought from ‘Omnipresent’ shop in High Street or by calling 01384 918434.

Money raised from the tickets will go straight back into improvements to the local beauty spot and wildlife haven of Kinver Edge.

The edge is this year celebrating the 100th anniversary since the land was gifted to the National Trust, with work already taking place on the ‘Centenary Pathway Project’ including the installation of new resting spots and access gates.
