KINVER Library is on the hunt for their overdue books and are not set to charge readers for bringing them back.

The Vicarage Drive-based library is encouraging users to search out their overdue books which could be lurking under beds, down the back of sofas or at the bottom of toolboxes, as part of its ‘April Amnesty’.

Library bosses said that any of the books returned throughout the month which are past their due date, will simply be welcomed back without a fine.

Book stock manager, Val Davis, said: “Maybe you have some nestled on your own bookshelves, so familiar that you assume they belong to you.

“Now’s your chance to find them and make some space at home without fear of incurring fines, no matter how long ago they were due back.

“The hardworking volunteers look forward to being showered with those overdues – no questions asked.”

Kinver’s library books come with a standard three week issue period, but if a borrower needs more time, they can be renewed as long as another reader has not requested the book.
