A COMMUNITY TV station is hosting a free event in Kidderminster to celebrate the launch of its new internet channel.

The Community Broadcast Channels (The CBC) will be at Simply Limitless Wellbeing Centre, in Puxton lane, on Saturday, September 20, between 4pm and 8pm.

The special launch event, for new station 3CTV, will include a wide range of activities for all the family, including cider tasting, live bands, arts and crafts and a forest school taster session for children.

Ian Southall, managing director, said: “This is truly a great day for everyone involved and a celebration of all of the hard work we have put in to get us to where we are today.

“I am really excited about where the company is heading, through our engagement in such a vibrant local community.”

Developed and established as a creative arts and skills training social enterprise, The CBC will operate 3CTV as a media production house serving the local community.

The channel will feature programs produced by local residents and will offer various opportunities for people to get involved.

Sachia Mooney, director of programmes, said: “If you wipe the sweat from another person’s brow you grow to respect and understand that person – and I believe this idea is key to making a community thrive.

“The success of our community engagement project, The Means, earlier this year has proven to me how a local community has so much creative potential.

“Let’s use it positively for everyone to learn new skills, build an end product to be proud of and demonstrate these achievements to an audience.”

The event will be held in partnership with Simply Limitless, a local community group who support the community to attain better health and wellbeing through a range of activities.
