FUNDRAISING Wyre Forest residents and leisure centre staff collected more than £680 after taking part in a charity swimathon at the Glades.
The Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre swimathon was part of a nationwide event to help raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sports Relief.
Participating in 1.5 km, 2.5km or 5km swims, the 18 people who took part in the event were able to raise a total of £681.02.
Jenny Evans, swimming co-ordinator at the centre, said: “We had a wonderful day – the atmosphere was electric.
“We’d like to thank everyone who took part completed the challenge and raised money for two charities that I feel passionate about.
“We hope to smash both times and money raised at next year’s event.”
