THE congregation of The Holy Innocents’ Church, Kidderminster, held their annual Harvest Praise service last Sunday taking a collection of items to be donated to people in need.

During the special service members of the church brought in food they had gathered to be donated to the Kidderminster Foodback as well as handing over a collection of items to be distributed to those in hospital, unwell at home and in care homes.

Many of the children in the congregation filled small bags with magazines, hand cream, tissues, wet wipes, soap, face cloths and sweets.

Heather Prangley, member of The Holy Innocents’ Church, said: “We wanted to something different for this year’s harvest praise – rather than just collecting tins of beans.

“The children went through a lot of trouble making the bags and we hope it will make people who are not well feel a bit better and that it will make each recipient feel remembered and loved.

"We also hope the little luxuries will put a big smile on their faces - watching the children put the bags together sure put a smile on my face.”
