THE winner of a children’s competition organised by West Mercia Police has met with the head of the service during an exclusive tour of Kidderminster Police Station.
Six-year-old Imogen Powell, correctly guessed there were 220 balloons inside a police car during a game at Kidderminster Police Station’s open day in June.
Imogen, who also won a set of family tickets to West Midland Safari Park as part of her prize, said being a police officer is one of her life ambitions.
“When I grow up I want to be a police officer," she said. "A special kind of one who has a gun.
“Also, I will be able to have an ice cream everyday as there is an ice cream van outside.”
Bill Longmore, Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia Police, said: “It was great to meet Imogen and I hope she enjoyed her tour of the station.”
Police station open days have been taking place throughout the area as a way of giving local people a glimpse of what the day-to-day lives of a police officer is like.
Mr Longmore added: “The open day was a huge success with over 2,000 people attending.
“There is a lot of valuable work going on behind the scenes which our communities of Kidderminster and surrounding areas don't normally get to see.
“This was a valuable tool to showcase what we do to make residents feel safe and be safe.”
