THERE will be plenty of activities in Kidderminster to keep the whole family entertained this Christmas.

Street theatre, Santa in his grotto and Christmas themed street market stalls will all help the festive season spring to life.

From Saturday, December 13, Father Christmas can be found sitting in his grotto, outside the old Woolworths store in Worcester Street, between 11am and 2pm each day until Saturday, December 20.

The themed street market will take place in and around the town centre on December 20 until Christmas Eve.

In the days building up to Christmas, street entertainers will include the Pantomime dames who will be let loose in Vicar Street, High Street and Worcester Street on December 20 between noon and 3.30pm.

Vamos Theatre will be returning to the town on December 22, between noon and 3pm, following their recent appearance at Kidderminster Arts Festival in the summer.

The Jelly Rollers will be playing out their musical rendition of the Dickensian Ding Dong while strolling through the streets bellowing familiar sounds of the festive season.

Visitors should also be on the lookout for several Christmas puddings and bauble decorations travelling around on roller skates on December 23, between noon and 3pm.

Wyre Forest District Councillor Anne Hingley, cabinet member for health, wellbeing and housing, said: “With so much on offer this Christmas, the town centre will be bursting with entertainment and Christmas themed activities that are suitable for the whole family.”
