PUPILS at a Cookley school held a Christmas play with a difference this year as they commemorated the First World War.
Key stage 2 children at Cookley Sebright Primary School put on a poignant Christmas play to their parents based upon the events of the Christmas truce.
The play brings a conclusion to the work undertaken by pupils this term about the war and acts as a tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives during this time.
Rachel Meredith, key stage 2 phase leader, said: βIt is a very different Christmas production this year and the children have shown great maturity and understanding in learning about this important event.β
During the work this term, pupils have also had the opportunity to research their ancestors who lost their lives in the local community in 1914 to 1918.
