A KIDDERMINSTER based technology firm has been awarded a prestigious Bett award at the world’s largest technology in education event.

Computer software firm Just2easy, based in Stourport Road, took home first place in the Free Digital Content category at the recent awards dinner in London.

The Bett Awards play a key role in identifying and rewarding innovative ICT resources and services for use in education and the awards are considered the highest accolade in the industry.

Just2easy won the award for its J2Code resource designed to meet the requirements of the Government’s new Computer Science curriculum - helping primary aged students to code at home and in the classroom.

Danny Young, managing director, said: “J2Code is a cornerstone product in our tool suite. We’re pleased that this has been recognised at a national level.”

The award judges were impressed with the ease of use of the resource, saying “J2Code offers a good range of controls with good contrast and the ability to construct different coding scenarios.”

This is not the first time Just2easy has been named winners of a Bett award, the company took home the top prize in 2013 and 2012, and was shortlisted as a finalist in 2011.

Debbie French, portfolio director at i2i Events Group said: “The Bett Awards bring together developers, distributors and educational practitioners each year to recognise, reward and celebrate ICT excellence in the education sector.

“Becoming a Bett winner is something that companies strive to achieve.

“The 2015 Awards mark the 17th year of celebrating and acknowledging the world’s leading developments of ICT within education.

“We applaud Just2easy for the excellence it provides and its success in the Bett Awards over the years.”
