The ladies at the July monthly meeting held in the Franche Community Hall on Wolverley Road were entertained by Ray Sturdy in See & hear quiz, making us all go back in time to programmes we had either heard on the radio or theme tunes from television programmes.
The winning team was “Kath’s Belle”, namely Kath Vaux, Margaret Peyton, Anne Evans & Ena Meeking,with 44 points.
Ray does these Illustrated talks, challenges and lectures in aid of Cancer Research and has over the past 61/2 years raised over £70.000. The competition “A paperweight” winners were Sarah Delahay, Anne Evans and Dorothy Hadwell. Birthday raffle winners were Sue Murkett, June Thomas and Joan Didlick.
The next meeting in the Hall will be an Open meeting on Tuesday September 1 at 7.30pm with Derek Walker “Tiptoe through the tulips” New members and visitors very welcome. The competition is an autumn flower arrangement.
